Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a permit?

All incorporated towns and cities require a permit. Sierra Vista and Huachuca City require a permit for any size building. Tombstone, Bisbee, Douglas and Benson require a permit for anything over 120 square feet. Cochise and Pima County require a permit for anything over 200 square feet.

Unincorporated towns fall under the same rules as the County they are located. Costs will vary depending on local rules. The rules do change so it’s best to check with your local planning and zoning office.

Are permits hard to get?

Sometimes. A site plan is required to accompany the application. The site plan must show where the building is located on your property relative to your house, other buildings and property lines. Mr. Shed can get the permit for you for $200.00 plus cost of permit.

Is delivery and installation free?

Not always. We deliver up to 75 miles from our store free of charge however, if your property is “running off” more than 6 inches there may be an extra charge to level your building.

Can I place my building anywhere I want on my property?

Not always, permit or not, most localities have setback rules you must follow. If you have a homeowner’s association, they too, might have rules you have to follow.

What colors can I choose?

Any color under the rainbow. We can, in most cases match the color of your house. We just need about a 2 square inch sample.

Does Mr. Shed have a Rent To Own program?

Yes, we do. It’s a good program and gets you into a building with very little down and you can keep the building for 2 months or 2 years and give it back. There is no hit on your credit. The disadvantage is, it’s expensive, you can get better money from your bank or credit union.

Does my building come with a warranty?

Yes it does. Everything we use building your building, from the hinges to the roofing comes with a manufacturer’s warranty. The construction of your building comes with a lifetime workmanship warranty. The best in the industry. With regular maintenance your Mr. Shed will last a lifetime.
